VCA is short for ‘Safety, Health and Environment Checklist Contractors’ (Veiligheids Checklist Aannemers in Dutch). The purpose of this official checklist is to make sure everyone works in a safe manner. Make sure you prepare well for the Dutch safety exam in your first week! We advise you spend half a day up to a day to prepare. Make sure you watch the Q&A videos too! A valid safety certificate is required for each project.

In this segment you will learn about the workplace, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), work resources, and specific activities and circumstances.
This segment will tackle the effects of noise, vibration, lighting and physical stress on a person. It also looks at securing an installation and workplace, signboard meanings, signs for security and firefighting, and markings. It will also look at various PPE Functionalities. You’ll be taught about what the function is of a particular piece of personal protective equipment. You’ll also see how PPEs / PBMs should be used. In this section you will also become familiar with various work resources.
In this segment you will learn about dangerous substances, electricity and radiation, and fire and explosions. The videos will explain the workings and dangers of certain substances, exposure to these, limit values, asbestos-suspected material, common hazardous substances, oxygen concentrations, leaks, and biological substances. You will also be taught what the risks and hazards are when working with or in the vicinity of electricity and fire.
This segment will cover accidents and emergency situations. It will look into how to handle incidents and accidents. you will learn the definition of an accident, what is needed to prevent repetition, and the actions that need to be taken during an accident. Business emergency plan an evacuation plans will also be discussed in this segment.
In this segment you will learn about regulations and safety rules, prevention, safe working, consultation and, inspection. You will be taught about the meaning of the term Arbo and become aware of the objectives of the V&G legislation. You will also learn about the importance of behaviour on safety. Your behaviour can affect a safe working environment. The videos will also show you how to recognize and acknowledge hazards.
Want to practice the VCA exam or still have questions after watching the previous subjects? These videos will help you out. They walk through multiple questions and give answers accordingly. We advise that you watch these videos carefully, as they will really help you! The questions are not the same as the ones that will be asked during the exam but they do focus on the right topics.
